Highlighting is in! Well, its been in for a while, but now its called STROBING and everyone is loving it. In this tutorial, I'll be showing you how to highlight with a powder highlighter. I'll be using a fan brush and Mary Loumanizer by The Balm, which is my FAVORITE highlighter. Its a silky, soft champagne colored highlighter. It has a perfectly subtle shimmer and NO chunky glitter.
My friend Jess will be showing you how you can apply highlighter on yourself. Thanks Jess!

Step 1:

With a light sweeping motion, apply highlight on the high points of your cheek. Make sure not to go all the way down to the apples of your cheek as that will make you look oily, especially in photos.
Ciari's Quick Tip:
Make sure to tap off the excess product from your brush. Lots of highlighters are very pigmented so tapping off the excess ensures that you don't put too much product right away. (check photo below) Its easy to add more but difficult to lessen. If you do happen to put too much, just take the brush you used for foundation and lightly go over the highlight to soften it.

Step 2:

Lightly dust some on the bridge of your nose.
Step 3:

Highlighting the cupids bow is my favorite. It makes your lips look fuller!
Step 4:

Very springily dust some in the areas above your eyebrows.
Step 5:

Take some highlighter on your finger and highlight the brow bone!

And there you go! Easy highlighting. Next, I'll be showing you how to do this "cool girl" makeup look on Jess and how to highlight using cream products!
Stay tuned!
